Become A Good Teenager

Teenanger is one of human development stages which the one can't be called him mature, but not the child too. This stage is transition priod to be grew up which put in to 13 years old until 19 years old (international standard, but in Indonesia until 24 years old). On this development, the achievement of independence and identity of the very prominent (the more logical thinking, abstract, and idealistic) and more and more spending time outside the family.
When the individual has entered this phase, the role of peers is so dominating with a percentage up to 70%. Because of him, while individuals entering this phase, parents need to be more wise in the face and can't apply the same parenting. Due to a lack of understanding of parents and people around about the psychological conditions of youth not uncommon negative label often pinned on them. Whereas, delinquency-delinquency which occurs often due to treatment of people around a less positive response of acceptance.

A teenager is any person who is between the ages of 13 and 19; during this important stage of human development, boys and girls reach puberty, although this may happen at different ages, depending on a boy or girl's specific hereditary factors. During puberty, boys will go through the following changes:



Changes Boys Go Through During Puberty
• The growth of hair: Under the arms, in the pubic region, and sometimes on the chest or face (beard and moustache)
• Deepening voice; the voice will "break" and become more like a man's voice
• Sexual feelings and erections, "wet dreams", et cetera
Changes Girls Go Through During Puberty
• Menstrual periods will begin during the teenage years (although they may start before and after the teens, in very rare cases)
• Hair grows under the arms, on the legs, and in the pubic region
• Sexual feelings will develop; these may manifest themselves as intense "crushes"

Before the teenage years, a boy or girl is often referred to as a "tween"; after the teenage years, a young man or woman will usually be referred to as an adult, or a young adult. There are many psychological milestones that occur in a teenager's life - one of these is the pulling away from parental figures, in favour of peers or love interests. During this "pulling away phase", the teenager is learning to make decisions for him or herself, and seeking out a life direction, including a potential career.
There are three stage of teenager:
EARLY ADOLESCENCE
(12 to 14 years)
  • Struggle with a sense of identity
  • Experience moodiness
  • Express feelings by actions rather than words
  • Begin to place more importance on friendships
  • Pay less attention to parents
  • Search for new people to love (in addition to parents)
  • Begin to notice and react to peer pressure
  • Gravitate toward same-sex or group activities
  • Experiment with masturbation
  • Worry about being "normal"
  • Begin to test rules and limits
MIDDLE ADOLESCENCE
(15 to 16 years)
  • Complain that parents interfere with independence
  • Worry about appearance and body image
  • Withdraw from parents emotionally
  • Accelerate efforts to make new friends
  • Adopt a pronounced group identity
  • Grieve the psychological loss of their parents
  • Internalize experiences privately (diaries, journals)
  • Begin to value intellectual qualities
  • Develop a sense of tenderness toward the opposite sex
  • Respond to personal conscience
  • Start to experience passion and love
LATE ADOLESCENCE
(17 to 19 years)
  • Consciously delay gratification
  • Think ideas through
  • Express ideas verbally
  • Develop a well-rounded sense of humor
  • Understand and make use of compromise
  • Take pride in their accomplishments
  • Become more concerned about others
  • Have better defined work habits
  • Begin to consider serious relationships
  • Have a clear sexual identity
  • Stress personal dignity and self-esteem
Teenager is a phase of human development whereby someone experiences dramatic changes from a sexual to sexual. These changes mainly are marked by development of primary and secondary sexual characteristics. The development of sexual characteristics then causes development of sexual behavior such as attracted to another gender and having sexual drive. Sexual behavior of adolescents can lead to severe problems if it expressed uncotrolly or against the morality values. In fact, uncontrolled sexual behavior harms adolescents for three main reasons. Allah awt has remembered teenager and their parents about the important teenager’s lives.

Finally, Adolescence is a period of vulnerable to negative influences, such as drugs, crime, and sex crimes. However, adolescence is very good for developing all the potential positives that are owned, such as talents, abilities, and interests, as well as the affirmation of the values ​​of life (Willis, 2005). According to Hurlock (2004), adolescents have very different needs to be met. If the demands are not met, it will be the source of many problems for teens.
